Plainville Property Manager Arrested On Larceny Charges

The owner of the now defunct D&H Management firm in Plainville has been arrested on larceny charges following an investigation into complaints from more than 20 condo associations in Plainville and Bristol of missing funds, according to Plainville Police Lt. Nicholas Mullins

“On March 15, 2015, the Plainville Police Department began receiving complaints from several condominium associations in Plainville and Bristol regarding missing funds from their bank accounts and other suspicious activity involving the now defunct property management company, D & H Management, previously of 55 Whiting Street in Plainville,” says a press release from the department.

“With the assistance of fraud investigators from Farmington Bank and Webster Bank, Plainville detectives conducted an extensive investigation into the finances of the 26 condominium associations.

“The investigation found evidence that between January of 2014 and March of 2015, the owner of D & H Management, 36-year-old Devin Hill, conducted 133 unlawful cash withdrawals, diverted 343 checks, and wrote 105 checks to a fraudulent account that he created, wrongfully appropriating $275,527.51.

“It was also discovered that Mr. Hill received assistance from two co-conspirators including a former employee of D&H Management, 26-year-old Dereck Cutone.

Hill has been charged with larceny 1st degree, conspiracy to larceny 1st degree, conspiracy to larceny 2nd degree, and identity theft first degree. He was released after posting a $150,000 bond.

Also, Cutone was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny 2nd degree. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Is there any data regarding monthly condo charges for associations that provide various benefits such as pool and club houses versus basic benefits such as lawn maintenance and snow clearance? At Westford Condos in West Hartford, we’re paying $320/mo for bare-bones services and the fee is going up in November. Any input would be greatly appreciaited.

I have been overcharged condo common charges by my HOA for over two years by about 33 percent . They used the wrong Square footage number to calculate as the thought I had the larger unit
What can I do next to recoup for previous $ and ant going forward?
    Thank you!
